I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my candidacy.
Elected in March 2017, I am serving my first term as City Treasurer. My husband, Nick, and I have lived in PVE for 10 years, and have four children that graduated from Palos Verdes High School. I graduated from UC Berkeley and have over 30 years of corporate banking experience. As a Senior Vice President at U.S. Bank, I am responsible for managing bank relationships with higher education and nonprofit organizations and oversee $600 million in credit risk. I specialize in helping organizations finance projects, implement efficient banking operations and manage investment assets. As an active volunteer, I have proven financial experience working with non-profit organizations, including UC Berkeley Alumni Association Board of Directors (VP Finance) and the Palos Verdes National Charity League (Treasurer).
In September 2018, I graduated from the Palos Verdes Estates Citizen’s Academy. This is a four-month program that is open to all residents. As described on the City’s website, this program “familiarizes participants with municipal operations/services, budgeting, police and fire services, environmental programs, community recreation as well as the City’s history and vision for the future. This helps prepare local citizens who may serve as resources, ambassadors, volunteers, and future elected and appointed leaders of the City.”
My purpose for participating in this program was to make sure I see the big picture for the future of our city, and not just the financial picture. I believe I accomplished that goal and am energized to apply that knowledge and leverage my experience as City Treasurer to be an effective City Council member.
